The automotive sector has become the manufacturing benchmark and top generator for the Mexican economy with steady growth in the past decade. Industry estimates predict that vehicle production will reach five million by 2020. Mexico has become the seventh largest vehicle producer in the world, and the first in Latin America. According to the Mexican Association of Automotive Industry (AMIA), Mexico may surpass India by 2020, becoming the sixth largest worldwide vehicle producer.
