Participants who complete all six ETAP sessions and are considered to be ready to export will meet, one-on-one, with a US Commercial Service International Trade Specialist from a local southern California US Export Assistance Center to:

  • Identify the firm’s top export market and eligibility for Commercial Service programs.
  • Identify the “next steps” for using US Commercial Service capabilities here in the US and with US Commercial Service staff overseas in a discussed export market;
  • Potentially receive conference call counseling with both the US based and in-country Commercial Service industry colleague.

The U.S. Commercial Service is the trade promotion unit of the International Trade Administration.  U.S. Commercial Service trade specialists in 107 U.S. cities and in more than 80 countries work with companies to help them get started in exporting or increasing company sales to new global markets. Their services include world class market research, trade events that promote products or services to qualified buyers, introductions to qualified buyers and distributors, and counseling and advocacy through every step of the export process.

Centers for International Trade Development
The Centers for International Trade Development (CITD) have 14 offices across California and assist thousands of companies annually in conducting international business. The goal of the centers is to advance California's economic growth and global competitiveness through technical assistance, trade development activities, and access to international markets. Each CITD provides a variety of free or low-cost programs & services to assist local companies in doing business abroad. These include one-on-one technical assistance and consulting, market research, training and educational programs, trade leads and special events.
