Event Scenario:

The Defense Industry Dialogue (DID) progress summary meeting were held on the margins of the Latin American Aerospace and Defense Expo (LAAD) on April 3, 2017.  Approximately 130 representatives from Brazilian and American government, military and industry participated, including Brazilian Secretary of Defense Products Flavio Basilio, U.S. Ambassador McKinley, USSOUTHCOM Military Deputy Commander General DiSalvo, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for the Western Hemisphere John Andersen, and senior executives from 37 US and Brazilian defense firms. The discussion focused on concrete strategies for growing trade and investment in the defense sector, including technology transfer, export compliance, supply chain integration, and pursuit of a binational program.
