Founded in 1804, Ohio University is one of the oldest public universities in the United States. Founded in 1967, the Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE) is one of the leading English language programs in the U.S. OPIE offers courses for students conditionally admitted to an OHIO academic program, as well as programs for students simply wishing to improve their English. Undergraduate applicants not meeting the English language requirements for academic study may be offered conditional admission and can fulfill their English language requirements through successful completion of the OPIE program.
